The NEDSI 2011 Conference will be held at the Montréal Marriott Château Champlain in Montréal, Canada.
April 14 – 16, 2011
For those of you who are reading about us for the first time, let us explain a little about our group. We are one of several regions that comprise our national professional society, the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). Our region encompasses the Northeastern United States.
Northeast Decision Sciences Institute (NEDSI) holds an annual regional meeting each spring that features presentations of original research papers; Ph.D. and new faculty development seminars; a placement service; case writing; and other interesting innovations in the fields of Accounting; Business Education; Finance; HRM; Management; Marketing; MIS/DSS/Expert Systems and IT; Organizational Behavior; Production/Operations Management; and Strategic Management, among others. Awards for "Best Paper" in several different categories are given each year.
Our national organization, the Decision Sciences Institute, holds annual meetings and publishes the Decision Sciences journal and the newsletter Decision Line. Most members of DSI are academics who teach in colleges and universities, although some practitioners join us from time to time, and they are certainly welcome.
To find out more about participating in NEDSI meetings or about becoming a member of DSI, click on any of the topics on the left and you will find a complete list of current NEDSI people including Advisory Council members, Board Members, and Officers. Additionally, you will find a link to the minutes from previous board minutes and the next NEDSI conference in April, 2011.
Bienvenue!
How's that to begin our journey to Montréal? As you enjoy your summer and new academic year, it is my hope that you include the 2011 Northeast Decision Sciences Institute Annual Conference in your research plans. Our conference will be hosted by our northern neighbors in Montréal, Canada on April 14-16. NEDSI has always prided itself as a friendly, collegial group of academic and business professionals. Your submissions will receive constructive feedback. Your approved proceeding and subsequent presentation will be discussed in a respectful environment focused on assisting presenters on the “next steps” of their research.
Minoo Tehrani, the NEDSI’11 Program Chair, will be assembling an amazing conference. With great sightseeing opportunities, historical architecture and excellent restaurants (not to mention a great hockey town!), Montréal will provide an exceptional backdrop as the host of the Conference.
Par conséquent, j'invite nos membres fidèles et amis ainsi que d'encourager de nouveaux participants à se joindre à nous NEDSI'11. Un endroit idéal pour apprendre, réseau et amusez-vous! Therefore, I invite our loyal members and friends as well as encourage new participants to join us at NEDSI'11. A great place to learn, network and have fun!
Rendez-vous à Montréal. See you in Montréal!
Sincerely,
Kenneth J. Sousa, Ph.D.
President, Northeast Decision Sciences Institute
